Traditional Costume Museum

Women in traditional costume – a colourful sight, that characterises many a region of Bavaria. And in Franconia? Are the colourful garments ready for the museum or even extinct? Almost: In Franconian Switzerlans and the sourrounding area, you can still see woman in traditional costume, although their numbers are dwindling. In short: traditional costume has become a precious rarity here.

We preserve the knowledge of the last traditional costumes and exhibit unique pieces of clothing. A seperate museum is dedicated to the phenomenon of "traditional costume".

From the history of origins, the variety of fabrics and accessories to many original exhibits, photos and stories in Franconian dialect – look forward to a unique insight into a world full of patterns, fabrics, colours and personal stories.
